用qué來問更詳細的工作內容

一般在問對方的職業可用
"¿a qué te dedicas?"
對方可能會回答
"Soy ingeniero"

但如果想問對方是那一種工程師,可以這樣問嗎?

"qué ingeniero te dedicas?"

(對方可能會回答 "Soy ingeniero de 機械"...)

incline的用法

上面這句話我大概猜得出來含意因該是
"即使是第二代程式語言,FORTRAN和COBOL,仍被認為是數學或技術性領域的東西"

但原文我有兩個地方不太懂

(1)inclined在這邊的含意是什麼?我一直沒辦法把字典裡的解釋(傾向)融入這句話中

(2)of 後面為何加副詞? 副詞用來修飾動詞或形容詞,所以在此處是修飾 inclined???

問句的還原

我在書上的練習題看到一個問句
¿Dónde podemos tomar tapas?
我本來的想法是主詞因該出現在動詞後,
所以寫初來的答案是

Tapas podemos tomar en El Pádel.

但這句話愈看愈怪.....所以我在想 "tapas" 因該是受詞....主詞已被省略隱含在 podemos之中
所以我把答案改成
  Podemos tomar tapas en El Pádel.

不知道這樣對不對

en的問題

¿En qué estación de metro está el restaurante peruano?

這句話我感覺得出來,意思因該是在問"peruano餐廳在捷運那一站"?
可是如果硬是要我直翻會變成"那一個捷運站在 peruano餐廳裡?"
這樣很怪啊,捷運站怎麼可能在餐廳裡?

查了一下字典,但不是很確定for在這邊的用法.
在這邊是不是代表 Torres已經有2年半沒有在 Champions League得分??
 (我有查了統計資料,他還真的2年多沒有得分)

#2底下那個 romp的詞性是形容詞或動詞?如果是形容詞,修飾的是那個部份?如果是動詞,為何沒有第三人稱+"s"??(Chelsea romps)?

以下為節錄一段旅館訂房的對話

紅字的部份看不太懂,
第二組紅字más IVA 其含義到底有沒有包含IVA?

devote的用法

請問devote這個字的用法.
 在奇摩字典看到的解釋及例句如下


將...奉獻(給)[(+to)]


(1)He devoted himself to writing. 他專心寫作。

(2)He was still devoted to the study of chemistry. 他仍專心致力於化學研究。


但我對於(2)有些許疑問,(2)出現了"was+devoted",這不是被動式嗎??
因為我覺得跟句中文翻譯逆推回來,我也有可能寫成"He still devoted study of chemistry" ....
此時我對這個字的主動,被動的感覺已經一片混亂了

to play host to

"play host to" 其中文意思為招待

但在上網搜尋例句時還發現了不少人使用"to play host to". 其含義因該是"舉辦活動".
例如:
"Houston to play host to 2013 All-Star game"

雖然看到需多例子都是這樣用,只是第一個"to"怎麼看都怪怪的.....在這邊有其詞性是?文法上有辦法說迷這著個to嗎?

書上的解釋是
"小麥委員會的代表來自各省份以及聯邦政府"

基本上我是看得懂也能接受,但"as well as"不是也有"一樣"的意思嗎??
那翻譯為什麼不是

"be in one's bst interest" 在書上看到解釋
"為了某人好;為了...的最大利益"

例句給的是
It is in our best interest to buy a house at this time.

我猜中文含意是=>"對我們而言現在是買房的最佳時機"
但此句我一直無法100%明瞭的地方主要在於
我的思考模式一直希望把以下這兩部份合併
 "It is in our best interest"
" buy a house at this time"
 但我怎麼想就是想用個關係代名詞或是for來組合.......但就是合不起來,也不會想到用to , 我怎麼看就是不知道這個to放在這邊要做什麼??

連接詞provided

我在字典裡看到給provided的解釋及例句
conjunction
on the condition or understanding (that); providing:

I'll go provided that the others go, too.

雖然解釋中有"(that)",但我還是想知道有沒有辦法知道為什麼要放那個that?如果沒放可以嗎?我的想法是provided本身就是連接詞,這個that在這個地方的作用是什麼?

[假設語氣]一定要"假設"嗎?

If you ________ thinking we'd profitable again soon, you'd be disappointed.

(a)were
(b)was
(c)are
(d)had been

書上的參考答案是(a),雖然我的因為認為題目是在考假設語氣,所以were會是我的備選答案,但是(c)真的不行嗎?

[假設語氣]使用反於過去的時機

The mayor candidate would rather his opponent __________ about his family.

(1)didn't criticize
(2)wouldn't have criticized

書上的參考答案是(1),原因是反於現在.
但是否可選(2)嗎??,因為我認為也可以用"反於過去".

[假設語氣]could的時態問題

"If I could live longer, I could read more books"

如果不看上下文,能看出是"反於現在"或"反於未來"嗎?
